4th classes had a busy SESE lesson this afternoon investigating what lies beneath our school. They traced the sewage, waste water and electricity supply outside on maps and looked for clues as to where each is under the ground in our school. Davy, our caretaker, had a big treat for them when he lifted up one of the large manhole lids in the yard to show the pupils where the waste water and sewerage pipes come together. Even better, someone had flushed ta toilet at that time in the school and the pupils saw everything coming down the pipe! The pupils had some follow up questions which we have to find answers to in the coming days.
