St. Patrick's National School, Slane will be closed tomorrow, Friday the 24th of January, as a result of the incoming storm Éowyn.

Storm Éowyn, named yesterday, is forecast to be a powerful winter storm, which will affect Ireland from Thursday night and during Friday. It has the potential to be very destructive. It is expected to bring damaging gusts of wind in excess of 130 km per hour nationwide.

The National Emergency Co-ordination Group (NECG) has advised people in red warning areas to "stay indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and take action to protect themselves and their properties."
