Pupils from 6th class celebrated their Confirmation today, the 2nd of April, in St. Patrick's Church, Slane. The sacrament was celebrated by the Bishop of Meath, Tom Deenihan, with Slane Parish Priest, Fr. Richard Matthews assisting.
The pupils had been working towards this day for a number of months. They had researched their Confirmation names and written letters to Fr. Richard, as well as receiving confession in the lead up to the event.
Many thanks to the pupils themselves, their class teacher, Mr. Sean Flanagan, pupils in the choir, led by Mr Kevin Fagan and Mrs. Cathy Carey, as well as the altar servers, other staff who helped on the day, to parents who read and to the Slane parish Council who had the Church all ready for the day.
The beautiful sunshine added hugely to the event, with lots of time to chat and take photographs outside afterwards.
