Mrs. Connor and Mrs.Haigney's second class hosted our January assembly recently. Each member of theclass led one part of the assembly or another.
The January birthdayswere announced, as were Gaeilgeoirí na míosa do mí Eanair, and star classes(Mr. O'Connor's 4th and senior infant class).
Mr. O'Donnell spokeabout the importance of Grandparent's Day and how special they are in the livesof the students. We all remembered grandparents that had passed away and thosewho could not travel for the day. He also thanked Ms. O'Neill and Mr. O'Hare,who have finished their student teacher placements in the school.
The Green Team made animpressive presentation to the school about the impact of car fumes on walkers,cyclists and people travelling in vehicles to and from school. They are tryingto reduce the number of vehicles that idle in the school car park when droppingand collecting students. Air freshener signs have been handed out to familiesand they will carry out a count of vehicles who idle once their campaign hasbeen implemented. They also introduced the school to a new green school songfor our school.
Second class then toldthe news from their class and activities they have been getting up to. Theyalso showed us all some of their recent art work. Maith sibh. More images areavailable on the 2nd class gallery.
