Easy Treesie Plant a Planet Campaign

St. Patrick's National School has been successful in an application for 50 native hardwood tree saplings to plant in our school, as part of the Easy Treesie project.

Through the generous donations of saplings from Coillte and other partners, the group Easy Treesie aims to help groups wishing to plant native saplings in their own locality.

They work with local communities, schools, individuals, companies and local authorities – whoever has space and is willing to provide it! When planted, weeds are trampled, not sprayed and mulched when young to retain moisture. Local communities help with watering too.

Children love to help so Easy Treesie have included schools in the project. Davy has prepared the ground and the children plant the saplings, fill them in and water their tree.
