A huge thank you to all those who donated clothes for the recent Parent’s Association fundraising drive. A whopping 1.250 tonnes was recycled. Thank you also to Davy for co-ordinating the clothes in his shed and assisting with the collection.

The hot school meal scheme started this week in St. Patrick’s N.S. and seems to have got off to a great start. Deliveries have arrived every morning and are heated up before being delivered to classes just before lunch break. Pupils have their names on the labels so we know who owns which lunch and they seem very happy with the quality of the food and have reusable lunch boxes to take the waste home, which can be put in…

Earlier this spring we cleaned out our pond. It was full of plants and their roots so frogs had stopped coming to lay their eggs. Now that it is clean, we needed some tadpoles to start the cycle again. Taking tadpoles or frogspawn from the wild is illegal in Ireland but teachers have a special licence to remove frogspawn and tadpoles for educational purposes.
