It was a busy day in St. Patrick’s National School on St. Brigid’s Day. Many children brought rushes to school to make St. Brigid’s crosses. It is believed that St. Brigid used rushes to make a cross to teach an Irish pagan chieftain about Christianity. Mr. O’Connor’s 3rd class hosted a great assembly in school this week. We had the usual Amhrán na bhFiann, Gaeilgeoirí na Míosa (below), school news, birthdays as well as reminders on healthy eating and anti-bullying. Mr. O’Connor’s class also displayed some work from their class and led the school in a dance to finish the assembly.
