Mr. O’Connor’s 3rd class hosted a great assembly in school this week. We had the usual Amhrán na bhFiann, Gaeilgeoirí na Míosa (below), school news, birthdays as well as reminders on healthy eating and anti-bullying. Mr. O’Connor’s class also displayed some work from their class and led the school in a dance to finish the assembly.

Slane N.S. are taking part in the hot meals scheme later this year. This will mean that every pupil will get a hot meal at lunch break. A number of companies have expressed an interest in operating the scheme in our school. Twenty four pupils and some parents have been helping to choose a company to provide the hot meals by tasting the food of different companies. Each company has a long menu list for children. St. Patrick’s N.S. had our Grandparent’s Day as part of Catholic Schools’ Week. It was a great day. Grandparents came from lots of different counties to our school. They had lovely tea, coffee and baked goods in the hall thanks to the Parent’s Association and then visited all the classrooms.
