After building on our knowledge of electricity and circuits in science, we then embarked on a design and make task in small groups.
Our aim was to build a lighthouse that was stable and freestanding. It must also include a working light with a switch ensuring it could be switched on and off at ay time.
To begin, groups worked together to discuss their approach to the task and recorded the materials needed to begin, the steps involved and a quick sketch of their idea. With co-operation and teamwork groups began collecting materials and got to work on their lighthouses.
The final pieces were astonishing, with all groups succeeding in reaching the criteria. Not only were the final pieces spectacular but the team work, co-operation and communication along the way was also highly commendable.
